Holidays at the year end! One of the best times of year even with temperatures dropping to zero.
I was always fascinated by the image I had from childhood books, of snow clad english cottages, Santa visiting in his golden sledge with reindeers, Xmas lightings and decor everywhere!!

After coming to US, I have always been keen on decorating lights and Xmas trees and simply waiting for a white Christmas, which of course haven't happened more than 1 or 2 times in the last 8 years.
This year I just wanted to decorate our entrance with something handmade. I knew I wanted some Xmas bows and lights! I got these beautiful red and golden ribbons on sale from Joann's Craft store. Here is a lovely and simple tutorial on making a Xmas bow. I followed the same steps and had these bows.

Making of bows:
Lighted Xmas cones!! How do you make those without having to pay a good amount on stores??
Here is what I did. If you have those tomato cages from your summer garden, here is an easy way to transform them to cone lights.
1. Turn the cages upside down and tie the ends using jute twine/rubber bands.
2. Wrap the entire planter with Jute twine and then with golden ribbon.
3. Now comes the lighting part, keep wrapping the string lights from top to down the cage and leave a little bit of length at the end so as to connect it to extension code.
4. Tie your bow at the top. Now switch on the lights and enjoy the view!
