After the first experiment with no sew cushion covers in my last post, I was excited to do more, so gave a face lift to one more old cushion and it turned out well..
Now I decided to change my focus to something else. What about curtains? I always wanted some bright curtains and did a lot of searching, but never found one as per my imagination..This time I found a bright pink shower curtain from Gordmans and quickly grabbed those.. This was again a no sew project, so here are the steps:
1. I cut the shower curtain into 2 halves, lengthwise.
2. Now for the sides that are cut, I need to hem them lengthwise. I used Heat'n Bond Hem Iron-On adhesive tape. This material was polyester hence I was reluctant to use iron on them. So first I placed the hem tape on the material, folded the side, placed a cloth on top of it and ironed it to make sure it will not melt. It worked but is too laborious. So keep the iron on the low temperature and slowly press the material directly to fuse the hem tape
3. Repeat this to hem the entire side of each piece.
4. To hang the curtains, I used shower curtain rings which I had and was matching in color with the curtain rod I bought.
How to hem the sides using Iron on hem tape:
I used only 1 shower curtain here and are just for looks, if you really need to cover the window, use 2 shower curtains. My windows have heavy blinds so don't really need curtains to cover them.
This curtain truly reflects my love for colors and is the highlight of the room!!
